Messiah: December 2021

Soloist

Sold out & stellar Messiah with AAM Orchestra & Brockham Choral.  Stunning singing from fellow soloists.  Thanks Cole for having us!

Mole Valley Council Chairman

Wow – What a wonderful performance of Handel’s Messiah at St Martin’s Church. Your hard work created a fantastic evening.  Thank you Brockham Choral for inviting me to attend this inspiring event.

Choir Friends

This was a magnificent performance by Conductor, Choir, Soloists and Orchestra.

One of the best ever by BCS. Truly memorable, moving and appreciated with extensive applause from the audience who stood for the Alleluia Chorus.

A great experience after 2 years Covid restrictions. Thank you.

Oh my heavens! what a FANTASTIC concert. I enjoyed being in the audience for the first time. Since my affiliation with Brockham Choral, I have NEVER experienced a standing ovation with lots of whoops and cheers. Many congratulations.

I could immediately see how hard you (Cole) and the choir have worked and in a relatively short time. You have pulled out of the choir things that I never believed possible, energy, power, passion, modulation, emotion and a total commitment to you. When you signalled to stop you could have heard a pin drop. The orchestra of course, was superb, and didn’t drown out the choir. The whole thing was well balanced. The soloists were superb too and very well chosen.

Very exciting to have a full house which must have been very encouraging for you and  the choir. The comments of the audience at the end were basically ‘ Wow! The very best EVER’. Many many congratulations on the most marvellous concert.

A magnificent project. Well done (particularly the tenors…). Some magical moments. Knowing every note, I was worried I’d spend the whole evening “nit-picking”. As it was, I was just jealous!!! (and a little proud!! Good old Brockham). Superb soloists (particularly the mezzo/contralto!) and orchestra. Fantastic balance – heard every note/word.

Guest singer

May I take this opportunity to congratulate Brockham Choral on a simply superb event last night; the quality of singing from the choir was astonishing.  That was a great tour de force. I would also like to send a heartfelt ’thank you’ for inviting me to join you as a guest singer in the Bass section – I was made to feel very welcome indeed and it was incredibly special to be able to sing in such an amazing concert; this one will stay with me for a VERY long time!

Friends of Choir Members

The performance by Brockham Choral and The Academy of Ancient Music was so moving in both its quality and attention to delivering the Narrative in a truly sensitive and emotional manner.

The soloists were engaged in the story and sang as if the story was so real to them that it presented with passion and truth. Of course the Orchestra was an enormously professional addition.

I came away from the church feeling that the story of the Messiah was so relevant today and forever.

Thank you and CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL What a privilege to be in attendance to a most moving and passionate performance.

Yesterday was an amazing concert. Such a powerful performance from such a small choir.

The whole evening was a special way to start the festive season. Choir well balanced with the orchestra in that space. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

So beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed it, we were amazed at how many people were there!

Fantastic performance. The orchestra and soloists were brilliant. Lovely setting for it too. Great acoustics.

The best they’ve heard the Choir sing, and the performance revealed new aspects of Messiah that highlighted its richness.

We should have emailed you about Messiah earlier today to say how much we enjoyed it. It was like meeting an old friend, yet more so – we thought that Brockham Choral was first rate, and with the support from your professional soloists it was fit to take on the Welsh, the great exponents of this piece. You must have been ruthlessly rehearsed! We particularly liked the backing from the Academy of Ancient Music, which gave it the right period flavour. If Handel had walked in the door he’d have settled down with pleasure.

Our family thought the performance was terrific. They particularly enjoyed the mezzo’s beautiful voice.

Fabulous concert.  Well done Cole!  It looked and sounded like you had the orchestra in the palm of your very capable hands.  Brilliant soloists too.  My heart was too full at the Amen chorus with the soloists giving it their all.  Thank you for a great evening.
